Rachael’s nursing career has included working in elderly care and stroke. In her current role she assists in the development and implementation of stroke services. Clinically she is involved in the triage, and assessment of patients as well as requesting diagnostic requesting and ongoing care and management of stroke patients and TIA/ Stroke clinics. Rachael is also actively involved in stroke research and recruits to stroke trials and is the Principle Investigator for nursing related studies. Rachael is also involved with various panels and stroke improvement groups for the region. She is also a guest lecturer at Coventry University and Birmingham University teaching acute stroke care and assessment on stroke and neurology degree modules. Rachael’s interests are in stroke in the younger adult, haemorrhagic stroke, continence post stroke and psychological issues post stroke. She has had a number of publications.
