Join us for the next instalment in our webinar series scheduled for the 30th of April at the slightly earlier time of 12:30.
This webinar is aimed at those with little to no experience in research, offering a comprehensive exploration of fundamental terminology essential for understanding the research landscape.
Our esteemed speaker, Rachel, brings over two decades of experience in stroke research, making her perfect for this subject.
Rachel's journey began on the Stroke Ward at Oxford, where she spent four years before transitioning into Stroke Research, a role she has now held for 16 years. Her interests lie in embedding research into normal daily ward activity and making all staff feel comfortable with research terminology and its implications. Ultimately, she would like to dispel the stereotype that ‘researchers wear white coats’, and ongoing myths such as ‘all research nurses do is sit around all day drinking coffee’!
In this webinar, Rachel will focus on forms of consent, what ‘Informed Consent’ actually means, and types of research structures, using brief examples from a variety of trials that she has come across over the duration of her role.
We invite you to actively engage in this webinar by sharing any research terminology you wish to understand better. You can reach out to Rachel at [email protected] with your queries, and she will incorporate them into the session if appropriate, or consider them for future NSNF webinars.
