I am a Stroke Nurse Practitioner with Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.
I have worked for many years as a general nurse back in my home country and also in UAE. I had rotated through surgical unit, paediatric unit, medical unit and emergency department before I migrated to the UK with my family in 2017.
I started my journey on a stroke unit as a pre-registered nurse before I got my NMC pin and became a Band 5. I gradually developed myself, studying different stroke modules with the help of my mentors at work who saw the potential in me. I worked as a stroke nurse outreach and stroke specialist nurse before I got my new job as an advanced nurse practitioner. I love looking after stroke patients as this gives me job satisfaction. I have been a part of some quality improvement projects and I am looking forward to be more involved in stroke care and activities.
I spend quality time with my family when I’m not working. We love travelling, going on holidays exploring new places. My hobbies are reading, singing and cooking. I also love going to seminars and conferences.
