Clinical Lead for Stroke, Kent and Medway CCG
Louise has been a registered nurse since 1996, working within stroke care for the past 18 years. She has a clinical background in acute stroke care and Thrombolysis. She has supported managerial roles both on the ward and within the service; and more recently has led on quality improvement and strategic development of stroke services. Within her current Lead Nurse role, Louise is responsible for providing professional leadership to the stroke service and nursing team; supporting quality and governance within the service; and leadership of an internal stroke transformation programme. Louise is also Acute Clinical Lead for the ISDN, supporting transformation of stroke prevention, acute stroke, and stroke workforce across the county.
Louise is passionate about keeping patients and staff at the heart of transformation, and to improve the quality of future stroke services. She has supported development of a regional patient advisory group to enable co-design of services with people who have lived experience of stroke; and works closely with the stroke MDT to promote quality improvement and innovation within the team. Louise has a professional interest in development of the stroke workforce to optimise competence and role development.
