Lead Nurse for Stroke, East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust
Louise has been a registered nurse since 1996, working within stroke care for the past 17 years. She has a clinical background providing acute stroke care and Thrombolysis; has supported managerial roles both on the ward and within the service; and more recently has led on quality improvement and stroke service development. Louise's current role provides leadership, quality, and governance support to acute stroke services; and supports regional reconfiguration of stroke services and implementation of HASUs.
Louise's professional interest is focused upon working with patients and staff to improve the quality of future stroke services. Louise promotes learning from experiences of stroke patients and carers, to support co-design of future services. She is passionate about development of the stroke workforce to optimise competence and role development; and to foster innovation in delivering high quality stroke care.
