Consultant Nurse for Stroke in Cambridge
Diana's background is neuro and intensive care, with many years experience in stroke and research. She has worked as clinical network lead prior to moving to present post. Diana's current role involves leadership across the whole stroke pathway from hyperacute to rehabilitation and life after stroke. She is involved in:
1.Service development: setting up hyperacute services and developing services across the pathway.
2. Education of the workforce locally, regionally and nationally.
She is joint lead for the hyperacute stroke research centre. Diana has been the Nurse representative for the intercollegiate stroke working party, the RCP guidelines and for NICE guidelines for acute Stroke and is the primary investigator for 5 national NIHR research studies. She set up telemedicine across the Easter region and regularly teaches pre and post reg nurses. Her interests are in evidence based practice, stroke education, role development and integrating research as core part of clinical practice.
